Founded in 1876 in Oberkochen, Southern Germany, the Leitz Group is the worldwide leading manufacturer of tools for industrial processing of wood, wood derived materials, plastics, compound materials and non-ferrous metals. The product spectrum covers the complete range of precision tools for automated machines. In a complete package of advisory services, approximately 3,000 employees pass on their experience of cutting tools to customers so meeting daily the requirements of a complete problem solver and producing service provider.
Leitz products regularly are used in more than 150 countries. By six production locations in Europe, Asia and America, sales companies and -offices in 36 countries, a close net of 120 service stations with quick-production facilities as well as sales partners, Leitz is represented on all continents.
Leitz supplies cost efficient tooling solutions for all woodworking applications, as well as tools for machining non-ferrous metals and plastics. From solid wood and panel processing in through-feed operations to all types of complete processing steps on stationary machines. Tools, as varied as the processing tasks they solve, equipped with the cutting materials best suited for the job, ranging from tool steel, HSS, tungsten carbide and PCD to synthetic monocrystalline diamond.
The Leitz standard tooling range consists of approx. 8,000 items, such as saw blades, hoggers, routers, drills, clamping systems, cutters and cutter heads, profile- and planer knives. In addition, Leitz designs, fabricates and delivers thousands of customerspecific tools and tool systems each year.

Leitz has developed a solution for many machining problems arising from the use of circular sawblades on CNC machines. The “Katana for CNC” programme demonstrates its strength especially when the saw cut becomes visible on the workpiece. All materials can be processed with one tool and the noise generated by the cutting can be reduced.
AT A GLANCE:
Whether industrial or handcrafted production, joining and beveling with different bevel angles always represents one of the central challenges with regard to the given mechanical equipment, the diversity of materials and profiles, quality requirements and market-related flexibility.
The Leitz bevel cutterhead system offers individual advantages for every company size and thus helps to achieve a clear production and quality superiority. The system is not only flexible and sustainable, but also improves production efficiency
In applications where high running metre performance is required, the use of conventional tool systems can result in high running costs. ProfilCut Q PLUS sustainably reduces production costs with resharpenable, diameter- and profile-constant cutting edges. Especially for machines with high parts output, this system offers more efficiency and productivity while saving resources – and all this in proven Leitz quality. Due to the six tool lives per knife, machining costs are reduced by up to 20 %.
